Coen, Guirgis bound for Atlantic Theater Company

The world premiere of Ethan Coen's first full-length stage play, a revival of "The Threepenny Opera" and a new play by Stephen Adly Guirgis are the highlights of the Atlantic Theater Company's upcoming season.

The company unveiled its slate of 2013-14 offerings Thursday, which also includes a stage adaptation of Alan Sillitoe's beloved short story "The Loneliness of the Long Distance Runner" adapted by British playwright Roy Williams.

Coen, half of the prolific filmmaking Coen brothers, offers his "Women or Nothing," about two women desperate to have a child. It will be directed by David Cromer and begin performances Aug. 28.

The Atlantic's season will close with the world premiere of Guirgis' "Between Riverside and Crazy...," the story of a family's struggle to hold onto a rent stabilized apartment.
