Cornet reaches final in Strasbourg

Third-seeded Alize Cornet of France edged Eugenie Bouchard of Canada 7-5, 6-7 (5), 6-3 Friday to reach the final of the Strasbourg International.

Cornet broke the Canadian teenager twice in the last set and saved six break points.

Last year's runner-up will face either Flavia Pennetta of Italy or Lucie Hradecka of the Czech Republic.

Earlier Friday, Pennetta defeated Misaki Doi of Japan 7-5, 6-3, and Hradecka downed Johanna Larsson of Sweden 7-5, 6-3. Those quarterfinals were scheduled for Thursday, but postponed to Friday because of the rain.
